James
James lives in the electorate with his wife Claire, a pre-school teacher, their daughter Mahlia and son Asher.
Having worked in the Hunter region for over 10 years in community relations and advocacy, and currently at a local school, James knows firsthand about working in the community to achieve strong outcomes. He has lived in the Hunter for over 12 years after studying a double degree at the University of Newcastle and working on the v8 Supercars race in Newcastle.
Growing up in regional NSW James has always had a passion to make a difference in his local community. His parents run their own farm contracting service which has given him a keen interest and understanding of small and medium sized business. His schooling years had a strong influence on developing an appreciation that the best investment is our children, because they are the future.
He wants a Hunter where our kids don’t just get any job at the end of school, but they can land the job of their dreams and aspirations, right here in the Hunter, supporting our tourism, coal, wine, dairying, agriculture, manufacturing and small business. He is committed to looking after people addressing issues in our region like domestic violence, homelessness and getting more doctors into the region.
James wants to see and advocate for strong jobs growth in the region. We have had over half the Nationals Party Room come to the Hunter in the last 12 months, to engage and listen to the community. We are committed to the Hunter.
We are clocked on to the Hunter where the Labor Party have clocked off.
